*****Diptford School now has its own website***** ..........here
Please help us to recycle mobile phones and printer cartridges........
As you travel up the hill from the Avon valley and emerge in the village centre the striking window facing you is that of of the village school - a Primary School. It plays a major role in keeping the village a living village as young families choose to live here so that their children may be brought up in a traditional village school environment.
Read what the School's Headteacher has to say about her school:
Classrooms 1 and 2 updated 2004. Both with up to date facilities.
Our school has high expectations and a caring family atmosphere founded on mutual respect with good behaviour being the norm. Our positive ethos is fostered by excellent relationships and the belief that positive praise is a motivator for achievement and self esteem.
Our school infrastructure has undergone considerable upgrading since the main building was constructed in 1865. The main building now houses a large classroom, library, ICT suite, group teaching room, school office, headteacher's office and staffroom.
Our school is at the heart of the community, enjoying strong links with St. Mary's Church across the road. We use the Parish Hall for school dinners cooked on the premises as well as PE and activities requiring a larger space. In addition we have access to the village playing field.
Parents and other residents are keen to contribute to the school's future and have formed the Friends of Diptford School - FODS to run activities which provide support for the school.
The School will be collecting unused mobile telephones and used printer ink cartridges for recycling.
We would be grateful for any contributions you may be able to give us to enable us to raise funds for the school.
Thankyou.
