Forest
School workshops at Diptford Pre-school
We
are running Forest School workshops where the children learn to work
with nature - poke about, explore, grow things and inevitably get
mucky.
We
first met Andy, a qualified Forest School leader, when he helped us
out during Michelle's maternity leave and were keen to have him back;
helping the children learn to appreciate and work with nature. We've
managed to get Grassroots and Lottery funding so Andy can run
workshops on Tuesdays with our Pre-school leaders, Michelle and
Paula, who can then integrate activities into the Friday sessions. It
is a wonderful opportunity for our children (who are teaching us
parents a thing or two!).
We
don't want to miss out on our occasional visits to school for play or
storytime - they've been a great confidence boost to past
preschoolers who went on to start school in familiar surroundings -
so we'll plan school visits for the Friday sessions.
