  2. Appointment of new Clerk a. The appointment of Sue Lucas was confirmed
  3. Declaration of Interest, and update of Members Interest a. none b. Cllr Franklin suggested that as there was a 28 day limit for reporting changes such as land bought or moving house this item should appear on the agenda each month. The council agreed
  4. Additional items as per the Chairman a. An email from the police for collection of information for their website was discussed, it was noted that Revd Ough had agreed to co-ordinate this b. It was agreed that an attendance book should be signed each month
  5. Minutes of the previous meeting (Monday 4th April 2005) a. After two additions to 6. a. ‘the Parish Council have advertised for a new councillor’ and 10. a. ii was altered to read ‘ Groups or organisations who use the field are responsible for their own insurance’ the minutes were agreed and signed.

    A councillor asked the clerk to chase an answer from the SHDC planning officer requested 3/4 months ago regarding the suspected occupation of a site between Etheridge and Daisy Hills.

  8. Highways and Paths
    1. There has been no reply from Ben Hubbard regarding the junction.
    2. We had received a letter from Nigel Flower of Devon County Council who has taken over the Road Safety in this area, the clerk was instructed to arrange a meeting with him and Cllrs Leflaive/Hill in the village.

  10. Letters received needing clerical action not covered under other items and reports for information only

    1. 2588 Cumings Containers - replied they are not invoicing for the last 2 skips, the council will make a donation to the Amenity Trust instead. Cllr Franklin has arranged for 2 further skips in May on the same arrangement. The clerk was asked to write and thank Mr Lethbridge and confirm the latter verbal arrangement.

    11.Insurance

    1. 2594 Allianz Cornhill - renewal is 1st June, Cllr Hill approached the DAPC and has sent to Zurich Insurance for a quotation. Cllr Hill is also enquiring into the possibility of joint insurance with the Amenity Trust but this may be too complicated for action this year. Cllr Franklin suggested a sub-committee to deal with these matters. It was agreed.
