Many village residents use their own cars to provide transport for people needing to get to important appointments.
NEW VOLUNTEER DRIVERS ESPECIALLY WELCOME
DIPTFORD COMMUNITY CAR SCHEME is a community led service, supported by Devon County Council and Diptford Parish Council.
If you would like the freedom to travel to visit your doctor or dentist (or a trip to the Station!)
Simply dial the Organisers, Tom Jenkins or Marian Hewett (numbers in Parish Magazine)
Please give at least
48 hours notice of your need to travel
As this service is run purely by volunteers, all journeys are subject to the availability of drivers
Gwyneth Welford who ran the community car scheme for many years has been named Volunteer of the Year - an award given by Devon County Council.

Who can use the service?
The Diptford Community Car Scheme has been established to provide a service for
elderly, disabled or isolated people who have difficulty in using public
transport, The service is available to parishioners of Diptford and
provides for individual ‘one-off’ journeys, for the purpose of hospital
visiting, doctors, dentist or chiropody appointments etc. Transport is
provided by volunteer drivers using their own cars.

volunteer driver, the Co-ordinators would be pleased to hear from you.
A mileage rate is paid.
