Following a recent meeting, we are hoping that our scheme will be merged with the Ivybridge Voluntary Car Scheme as from the end of December 2009.
The Ivybridge scheme is run on similar lines as our scheme and we anticipate that most of our local drivers will transfer, but will continue to drive our local passengers,
The organisation would be undertaken from Ivybridge and bookings will be taken through their office.

As you know, we are a local charity providing a door to door transport service primarily for the frail elderly or disabled or those who cannot use public transport. As I explained, we have also change our constitution so that we can carry people who are `socially excluded' by virtue of their location, providing we have enough seats on the bus. We operate three vehicles - 2 15-seater minibuses and one 5-seater `popemobile' (for more individual needs), all operating in different parts of our area - all wheelchair accessible, with a ramp or tail-lift, so anyone who finds steps difficult is also accommodated for. We are currently trialling a pick-up in Diptford on Mondays and Wednesdays, which would be with one of our 15-seater buses. As the bus has a school contract, our normal times for Ring and Ride are between 9.45am-2pm approximately, but these can vary a little in the school holidays. On Mondays we usually go to Plymouth fortnightly, and Ivybridge/Lee Mill/Endseligh once a month, with Newton Abbot/Trago Mills on the other Monday. Wednesdays have different destinations, which include Teignmouth, T/Q/Willow, Paignton and excursion trips during school holidays. Details of these are put on the bus or people can ring me at the office. Example fares are as follows and all are return fares:
